Bloomquist's RBI single in ninth lifts M's over Toronto

Baseball Betting Lines

07/02/2008 - Seattle, WA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Willie Bloomquist ripped a game-winning single in the bottom of the ninth to lift Seattle over Toronto, 7-6, at Safeco Field.

Raul Ibanez worked a walk off Scott Downs (0-2) to lead off the inning and moved into scoring position when Jose Vidro laid down a bunt. After intentionally walking Adrian Beltre, who was 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in the game, Jays manager Cito Gaston went to the bullpen and Shawn Camp. But, Bloomquist greeted the reliever by lacing the game-winner into the gap in left-center.

Richie Sexson also homered for the Mariners, who have won four of their past five games. Yuniesky Betancourt was 2-for-4 with two RBI in the win.

Ryan Rowland-Smith started and surrendered three runs on four hits in just 3 2/3 innings. Brandon Morrow (1-1) earned the win with a scoreless ninth

Adam Lind finished 3-for-4 with three RBI for the Blue Jays, who lost for the first time in four games. Gregg Zaun was 2-for-4 with two RBI for Toronto.

Jesse Litsch scattered 10 hits over 5 2/3 innings, allowing three runs -- one earned.

The Blue Jays jumped in front with a three-run fourth. Marco Scutaro led off with a single, moved to second on Alex Rios' walk and scored when Vernon Wells slapped an RBI double to right-center. Rowland-Smith continued to struggle and plunked Lyle Overbay to load the bases. After Scott Rolen popped out to short, Zaun grounded into a strange 7-5 fielder's choice to drive in another run before Lind capped the frame with an RBI single to right.

The Mariners clawed back into the game during the fourth with a pair of runs. Beltre got on with a one-out single, advanced 90 feet on Jeremy Reed's ground ball to second and came around to score when Litsch air-mailed Sexson's bouncer back to the box past Overbay at first. After Jeff Clement singled to left, Betancourt made it a 3-2 game with a run-scoring single to right.

Toronto bounced back with another three-spot in the sixth. The Blue Jays quickly loaded the bases thanks a Wells single, a Jose Lopez error on an Overbay grounder and a Rolen walk. Zaun followed with an RBI single before Lind laced a two-run double to left.

Seattle got a run back in the home half of the sixth when Reed got on with a one-out single and came around when Clement and Betancourt came through with consecutive two-out singles.

The Mariners continued to chip away in the seventh. Vidro slapped a two-out single up the middle before Beltre went the opposite way and tomahawked a Jesse Carlson fastball over the wall in right for his 16th homer of the season.

Seattle finally deadlocked things in the eighth when Sexson led off the frame by belting his 10th homer of the year.

Game Notes

Sexson's home run was his first since May 24...Lopez's error was his eighth of the year...The M's left 10 runners on base while Toronto stranded nine.

MySportsbook.com refunds all bets on Oakland, Green Bay and Tampa Bay from NFL week one.

(September 14, 2007) – Week one of NFL action saw three teams go scoreless for the first time since 1977.  Another four were unable to get a touchdown and almost half of the underdogs covered the spread. Those three teams saved bettors at MySportsbook.com from losing out completely, thanks to the company’s unique NFL Shutout Rule -- which ensures that if the team you backed goes scoreless, your wager is refunded.

MySportsbook.com refunded tens of thousands of dollars to customers who bet on Oakland, Green Bay and Tampa Bay, the three teams that stunk up the field so badly that their fans and backers never had a chance to get up from their couches and cheer.  In the spirit of the low scoring start to the season, odds makers at the world’s largest online sportsbook and casino have set odds on how many total shutouts there will be this season.

MySportsbook.com has posted updated betting lines for week two of the season.  Ben Roethlisberger’s health status is still questionable, so Willie Parker will try to lead Pittsburgh again as they travel to Jacksonville as a one point favorite.  After beating up on his little brother last week, Peyton Manning will look to lead the Colts to victory against Houston. Indianapolis is a whopping 13.5 favorite in the match-up.

Seattle, last year’s highest scoring team, showed the power of their defense with their gritty 9-6 win in Motown over the ravenous Lions.  They take their act back home to the comforts of Qwest Field where they will face the resurgent Arizona Cardinals.  The Seahawks are favored by a touchdown.
